The KAIROS project recently conducted a stakeholder survey to gather insights from the aviation community on current weather information needs, operational challenges, and expectations for future AI-based forecasting services. The feedback collected will help ensure that the KAIROS AI MET Forecast is developed in line with the real-world requirements of its future users.

Weather remains a key factor influencing aviation operations, affecting safety, efficiency, and decision-making across the air transport network. To address these challenges, KAIROS has developed AI MET, an AI-based forecasting service designed to improve the prediction of major aviation weather hazards, including thunderstorms, fog, turbulence, high-altitude icing, and dust and SO₂.

Below can be found the main findings from the survey and highlights how stakeholder feedback is contributing to the continued development of more effective, digital, and user-focused aviation weather solutions.
